Samsung aims at the throne of Apple Watch
For those who do not know, IFA is the most important technology fair in Europe. Each year, the new technological world of Samsung sets its sights on the old continent to see what the main actors of the digital circus present or show. And of course, the omnipresent Samsung is always protagonist in an event in which this year has surprised.
Usually the Korean giant realizes a whole display of products that cover all the fields of consumer electronics: televisions, refrigerators, washing machines, mobiles, wearables possible devices?. But this year has surprised everyone by showing at their opening event several smart watches that point directly to the king of the sector: the Apple Watch.
Samsung has taken advantage of this year’s edition of IFA to present two new smart watches focused on the world of sport and that, under no circumstances, compete with the current Gear S3. Under the name of Gear Sport and Gear Fit 2 Pro Samsung has shown two clocks that represent a turn of the nut to this type of products and that will also count on the collaboration of sports brands like Speedo or Under Armor to develop profits in the future.
The Gear Sport is a smart 42 mm watch. In diameter available in blue or pink with a Super AMOLED 1.2 “display that comes with a large variety of wristbands both in braided nylon and rubber. The watch includes new sports features such as the possibility of Watch your heart rate on a Samsung compatible TV in real time.
Gear Fit Pro 2 is a wrist band activity monitor that comes to improve Fit 2. Much more sport-focused than any other company product, this device is closer to a Fitbit wristband than to An Apple Watch. With an excellent built-in GPS it allows you to go running without having to carry a phone to monitor progress. It is also water resistant and its new screen allows it to remain active underwater.
Another of the devices available that presented Samsung were his new headphones Gear IconX. In this year’s edition they promise that the wireless sound of these headphones is much better and that their autonomy reaches the 5 hours of use, something really impressive if we consider the small size of this device.
Technology for the home
Samsung knows of televisions. And a lot. In addition, that product segment is possibly one of the most profitable reports to the company. That is why, far from falling asleep on the laurels, the Korean company throws the rest at every new big event. This time IFA has served to showcase the new QLF Q8F 55″and 65″ televisions that arrive for the first time with flat screen. In addition, Samsung took the opportunity to introduce a new device for Gaming videogames with an ultrapanoramic 32: 9 screen format.
Among the new TVs presented the new size TVs The Frame, which look like a picture frame, 43 “was also shown. In addition, Samsung announced an agreement with the Museo del Prado to teach paintings from his collection on TVs The Frame which we talked about a few months ago.
There were also news of washing in the Samsung presentation. A new technology called Quick Drive allows you to wash your clothes in half the time and more efficiently, saving water, electricity and even detergent. New smart fridges and a surprising wireless aspirator with 40 minutes of autonomy. That reminds too much of Dyson were other products. That we will see in depth over the next few days in Berlin.
